Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking a qualified and dedicated candidate to perform work and assist crews of employees, partner families, or volunteers as directed by the site leadership. Ensure safety practices are always implemented. Teach the necessary skills to workers to enable them to complete tasks. Perform quality assurance of all work.
- Complete daily home repair tasks including but not limited to exterior/interior painting, fencing, landscaping, minor plumbing, minor electrical, safety device installation (grab bars, handrails, ramps, etc.), flooring, drywall, water heater installation. Work may also include energy efficiency upgrades.
- Interact with homeowners/clients on the job site by providing detail on repairs performed and job schedule.
- Communicate with site leadership and provide regular project updates.
- Ensure repairs completed meet expectation/requirements of contract with homeowners/client and perform quality assurance of all work.
- Conduct safety training’s maintain safety equipment on site and ensure safety practices are implemented at all times.
- Teach necessary skills to volunteer labor and manage crews of volunteers as directed by site leadership.

- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, 75 lb. physical lift test, background check, authorization, and a driving record check.

Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.

Familiarity with, or interest in learning, basic construction and home repair techniques.

Understanding of, or willingness to learn, proper safety practices and consistently apply them on the job site.

Patience and communication skills to instruct volunteers at various skill levels in performing construction tasks.

Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions from site leadership.

Ability to interact respectfully and clearly with team members, homeowners, volunteers, and site visitors.

Willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and working outdoors in various conditions.

Passion for helping others and contributing to meaningful community recovery efforts, especially in disaster-affected areas.
- Frequently it is required to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.

May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. alone, team lift 100 lbs.

Frequent movement around the office/warehouse/ReStore may be necessary.

Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens.

Working conditions consist of high temperature-controlled workspaces.

Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on the work area.

Pay Range: $22/hr.- $25.00
