Job Description

Job Scope:

Obs & Gyne Consultant, directs and supervises activities within the Department and related patient care departments. Reports to and advises the Medical Director on matters relating to the operation of the Department. Applies current and theoretical approaches to the delivery of patient care. Provides overall responsibility for all Medical cases in-patients, out patients and emergencies. Conducts regular ward rounds on all patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides overall responsibility for all Medical cases in-patients, out patients and emergencies. Conducts regular ward rounds on all patients.
• Performs all surgical procedures according to the clinical privileges granted to him/her
• Holds consultations on problems from other specialists as requested. Provides recommendation as necessary.
• Works independently in accordance with established medical policies and procedures and to highest professional standards.
• Provides supervision to the department registrars within the department.
• Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines
• Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to department and responsible to run his/her own clinic.
• Responsible for directing, planning, managing, and coordinating operations for the patient care activities
  Job Requirements:
  Education and Experience

• PhD/Royal College/Fellowship/Membership in Obsterics and Gynecology
• Minimum 7 years post Phd /Fellowship/Membership experience in relevant specialty
  Job-Specific/Technical Skills
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of Required Organizational practices/patient safety standards.
• Command over professional code of ethics , medical bylaws.
• Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital .
• Culturally competent ( Kuwaiti patients’ culture and beliefs).
• AHA certified Basic Life support provider.
