Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a University established under IIPHG Act, 2015 of Gujarat State. It offers courses in the field of Public Health. It also undertakes various research projects in the field of Public Health. The university is established by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) with support from the Government of Gujarat, Department of Health & Family Welfare.
Project Brief:
It is a collaboration between the NATIONAL CENTRE FOR DISEASE CONTROL (NCDC), Delhi, PUBLIC HEALTH FOUNDATION OF INDIA (PHFI), Delhi and INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH GANDHINAGAR (IIPHG) Gandhinagar. The Project aims to aide in public awareness on the environmental impacts on health, to develop and enhance technical knowledge, to strengthen healthcare preparedness and response against climate sensitive health issues/illnesses with specific focus on vulnerable population as envisioned under NPCCHH and particularly, in subject area of extreme heat and health, green and climate resilient infrastructure in the country.
Deliverables:
The consultant will be responsible for creating and updating subject-specific
Health Adaptation/Action Plans (HAPs)
and their associated
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
. A key aspect of the role is to provide technical support to states and districts in crafting their own climate and health action plans. This includes a significant capacity-building component through the development of
training modules
and conducting
‘Training of Trainers’ (ToT)
programs. Additionally, the consultant will develop
Information, Education & Communication (IEC) materials
to enhance public awareness and resilience against climate-related health challenges. The position responsibilities will be to:

Develop/update subject specific Health Adaptation/Action Plan (HAP)
-
Develop/update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), advisories, guidelines related to implementation of action plan
-
Support State/UTs and Districts in development of subject specific chapter in State Action Plan on Climate Change and Human Health (SAPCCHH) and drafting of District Action Plan on Climate Change and Human Health (DAPCCHH).

Develop training modules for various level of healthcare professionals and community

Build capacity for training of trainers (ToT) for State/District Programme Officials

Support State in setting up of a functional surveillance system Develop Information, Education & Communication (IEC) materials for generating public.
Education
Essential:
-
BHMS, BAMS, BDS, BPT with postgraduate in public health (Two years)/Masters in Hospitals/health care management or any relevant field.
Desirable:

Around 02 to 03 years of experience in public health.

Experience of working with government and international organizations.
