TITLE: Content Coordinator

HIRING RANGE: $24.00 to $26.00 an hour, depending on experience
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The Crocker Art Museum brings people together and connects them in unexpected ways with art, ideas, each other, and the world around them. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Creation and Social Media Management
- Serve as one of the Museum’s content creators, drafting written, visual, and video material for external communication channels including social media, website, and blog.
- Approach content with a creative, audience-focused lens and work with Marketing Director and Creative and Brand Manager to ensure that all published content is consistent in the Museum’s brand tone and voice.
- Assist with and independently create engaging written, visual, and video content on behalf of the Museum including concepting, storyboarding, and scripting.
- Collaborate with Marketing and other department team members ensure priorities are met through planned and responsive social content in alignment with Museum content calendar and promotion needs.
- Craft or creatively repurpose existing Museum resources to create high-quality, engaging content for social media platforms, including written, visual, and video. Includes planned and scheduled, as well as live activity.
- Coordinate and execute video projects with support of Creative and Brand Manager including talent interviews, videography, editing, and distribution.
- Consistently monitor social platforms, including engagement with social advertising, and conduct outstanding community management on behalf of the museum.
- Ensure videos are optimized for engagement with compelling hooks, captions, branding and calls-to-action, and follow best practices for accessibility.
- Foster relationships with local partners, influencers, and community via assigned communication channels.
- Assist in the development of creative for digital advertising initiatives.
- Monitor performance and optimize content across owned channels using analytics tools and in collaboration with marketing team members. Surface insights and recommend optimizations.
- Exhibit a comfort with, and interest in, emerging communications platforms including new social channels, multimedia etc. and stays up to date on platform functionality, trends, features, and content styles.
- Share relevant platform updates with Marketing team members and provides insight and guidance on best practices.
General
- Collaborate with Marketing and other department team members to ideate, improve, and maximize all Museum content efforts.
- Support Marketing team in proofreading and editing written and designed content, and in tracking consistency of information across channels.
- Work across marketing systems and tools including social platforms, digital ad platforms, website CMS, and project management platforms.
- Maintain an awareness of best practices in Museum and other content and communication programs. Surface applicable insights and observations to benefit Crocker programs.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4 years experience in marketing content creation, social media management or related fields.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills that reflect ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding creative and professional writing and editing.
- Comfort with a variety of digital communication platforms including social media platforms, project management tools, and web content management systems.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, as well as various photography and videography equipment.
- Basic HTML experience helpful.
- Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and across departments.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and diplomatic skills.
- Punctual and adheres to scheduled hours.
- Must be available to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as needed for live social coverage.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and/or sit for long periods of time. They must have physical dexterity and the ability to carefully handle objects, as well as ability to lift and move items of various weights and sizes. Positions have occasion to lift and/or move objects of 15-20 lbs.
