Content Creator

COLAB LAX is looking for a Freelance Content Creator who lives and breathes social media trends — especially on Instagram and TikTok. This person will lead the charge on creating scroll-stopping content for both our in-house brands and external clients. We’re not looking for a filmmaker or a post-production editor — we’re looking for someone who understands social media, knows how to identify what’s trending, and can use that insight to develop fresh, relevant content that drives engagement and brand visibility.

You’ll be responsible for filming and editing short-form videos, identifying and using viral/relevant sounds, and helping us grow audiences by staying ahead of what’s next.

Please note applications without a portfolio (social handles, TikTok, IG Reels, or any video work relevant to this role) will not be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Create, film, and edit short-form videos optimized for TikTok and Instagram Reels
• Develop original content ideas aligned with each brand’s voice, goals, and audience
• Research and implement trending topics, audio, and content formats
• Collaborate with team members to brainstorm concepts and plan content calendars
• Attend client shoots and participate in real-time filming and direction when needed
• Track performance of content and adapt based on insights

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience creating viral or high-performing social content
• Deep understanding of Instagram Reels and TikTok (you know the trends before they hit the explore page)
• Hands-on filming and editing skills — you can shoot with your phone and make it look amazing
• Ability to self-manage, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to change
• Comfortable working on-camera and directing others if needed
• Agency experience is a plus
• Portfolio or social media examples required with application

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
