Job Overview

The Contract Administrator supports the day-to-day operations of the Contract Administration Team (CAT), which includes monitoring and responding to contract requests in a timely manner and working closely with stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient process. Additionally, the Contract Administrator will need to maintain an understanding of the contracting process and the terms and templates that are used to generate the contract.


The CAT provides services to internal contract requestors, manages contract records in the contract management system, and guides agreements through the contract lifecycle from start to finish. In addition, the CAT supports various projects related to the maintenance of CLM tools, including extracting and recording contracts-related metadata, assisting with and preparing legal data reports, and helping with analytics projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Performing day-to-day activities related to contract administration, including monitoring and responding to contract intake requests, maintaining accurate records in CLM tools, assisting business owners, legal, and other SMEs in navigating CLM tools, and timely moving agreements through different stages of their life cycles.

  • Clearly communicate any updates to the stakeholders in a timely fashion.

  • Work closely with the contract attorneys and business owners to identify opportunities to improve and streamline the contracting process and maintain up-to-date relevant playbooks..

  • Assist with projects related to maintenance of CLM tools and other legal technology as necessary, including extracting and updating metadata, quality control of metadata extraction, and preparing and distributing reports and metrics.

  • Understand and follow BHI and related brands’ contracting policies and processes, including following the delegations of authority, risk and control procedures, and directions from the relevant Legal teams.

  • Maintain an understanding of preferred terms and templates, generate agreement templates, and direct an agreement to the appropriate SMEs for review.


Required Knowledge- Bachelor’s Degree


Years of Relevant Job Knowledge- Advanced job knowledge (5-8 years)


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of the commercial contracting process, with a strong focus on contract drafting, review, negotiation, and execution within a corporate environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, or related field.

  • Proven experience in contract management, legal operations, or alternative legal services

  • Proficient in Google Suite, contract management software (Conga proficiency is a plus), and other legal technology.

  • Experience in data analysis, metrics reporting, or utilizing CLM data to derive insights.

  • A demonstrated aptitude at figuring out how things work and making processes better.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple contract processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
