Role Summary

The Contract Manager – Commercial will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of commercial contracts related to Automation, SCADA, IoT, and Industry 4.0 digitalization projects and services to Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Water, Infrastructure and many more. The role requires strong expertise in contract negotiation, commercial risk management, bid preparation, and materials procurement associated with automation and digital transformation solutions.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working within automation, control systems, SCADA, IoT, and industrial digitalization environments, with deep knowledge of commercial frameworks governing EPC, system integration, and service-based contracts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Contract Management

  • Manage the complete contract lifecycle from tender stage to project closeout.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial contracts, subcontracts, and service agreements.
  • Ensure contracts align with company commercial policies, legal standards, and project objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
  • Administer contract variations, claims, change orders, and dispute resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables.

2. Tendering & Bid Management

  • Lead the commercial review of tenders for Automation, SCADA, IoT, and Industry 4.0 projects .
  • Prepare commercial proposals including pricing strategies, cost structures, and contractual terms.
  • Analyze technical BOQs and material requirements related to control systems, panels, PLCs, RTUs, instrumentation, communication systems, and digital platforms.
  • Support bid clarification meetings and negotiations with clients.
  • Coordinate with technical, engineering, procurement, and finance teams during bid preparation.

3. Commercial Support for Projects

  • Provide contractual guidance to project managers and engineering teams.
  • Monitor project financial performance against contract terms.
  • Manage claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT), and cost recoveries.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for contractual correspondence.
  • Support procurement strategies for automation-related materials and systems.

4. Materials & Procurement Commercial Oversight

  • Review commercial aspects of materials procurement for Automation and SCADA systems.
  • Evaluate supplier contracts and negotiate favorable commercial terms.
  • Ensure alignment between supplier agreements and main contract obligations.
  • Manage back-to-back contract structures where applicable.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial contract management within:
  • Automation & Control Systems
  • SCADA Projects
  • IoT Solutions
  • Industry 4.0 Digitalization Projects
  • System Integration or Industrial Services
  • Strong expertise in bid preparation and commercial evaluation of automation-related materials.
  • Experience working in project-driven industrial environments.
