Position Summary:
The Contract Supervisor oversees the full lifecycle of payer contracts across Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Marketplace, and commercial insurance. This role leads a team, ensuring timely execution, compliance, and performance of contracts that support the Revenue Cycle Department. The Contract Supervisor serves as a strategic liaison between internal departments and external funding sources, driving operational excellence and maximizing reimbursement outcomes.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and mentors the Contract team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Leads contract negotiations and amendments with MCOs, Medicare Replacements, and commercial payers.
  • Oversees contract renewals, Medicaid/Medicare enrollment processes, and licensing requirements.
  • Monitors regulatory changes and payer policy updates, ensuring contract compliance.
  • Manages centralized databases and electronic repositories of contract documents and rate agreements.
  • Administers payer portals and oversees EDI/ERA enrollments across all funding sources.
  • Identifies and resolves contract deviations, payment issues, and compliance concerns using structured escalation protocols.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to align contract terms with operational needs.
  • Supports Single Case Agreements (SCAs) and guides resolution of complex contractual disputes.
  • Facilitates onboarding and training of staff on contract terms, payer obligations, and funding workflows.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key insurance representatives across regions.
  • Provides strategic insights and reporting on contract performance, fee trends, and reimbursement changes.
  • Ensures HIPAA compliance and confidentiality in all contract-related activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies, or related field is required (Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare contract management, insurance negotiations, or revenue cycle operations is required.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and third-party document systems (e.g., DocuSign) is required.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and ability to derive actionable insights from data is required.
