Contracted Content Creator (2025-2026) [Immediate Start]

POSITION : Content Creator (Contractor)

LOCATION: Hybrid — some on-site work at DSST Home Office and schools in Denver and Aurora, CO; some work-from-home flexibility

PAY: $30 per hour

STATUS: Part-time contractor, approximately 10–20 hours per week

START: Immediate start; Contract runs through June 5, 2026, with potential to renew for 2026-27 school year

DSST Public Schools is seeking a creative and highly collaborative Content Creator (Contractor) to support the digital storytelling and brand-building efforts of the network. This contractor will produce compelling, on-brand multimedia content—including videos, photos, graphics, and captions—to support student recruitment, staff hiring, donor engagement, and broader community awareness.

The Content Creator will work closely with DSST’s Marketing & Communications team to capture authentic moments across DSST schools, develop engaging content for social media platforms, and contribute to the network’s digital presence. This is a dynamic opportunity to work with a mission-driven organization focused on transforming public education in Denver and Aurora.


KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation

  • Increase DSST’s output of high-quality photo and video content at DSST schools, events, and activities.

  • Edit videos, photos, and graphics to align with DSST’s brand, tone, and messaging.

  • Write engaging social media captions that support student recruitment, community engagement, staff hiring strategies.

  • Produce original multimedia content that highlights DSST students, staff, alumni, and community partners.

Digital Campaign Support

  • Work collaboratively with the marketing & communications team to develop content that can be used for various campaigns.

  • Create digital promotional materials for school events, recruitment activities, and network initiatives.

  • Adapt content for multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).

School Collaboration

  • Visit DSST campuses to capture multimedia content and elevate stories about students, staff and classrooms that distinguish that school’s unique value proposition.

  • Support school-based staff by gathering content that reflects their community, events, and priorities.

Expectations

  • Produce 3-5 pieces of excellent content per week

  • Maintain consistency in meeting deadlines, producing deliverables, and attending scheduled on-site shoots or meetings.

  • Ensure all content reflects DSST’s brand standards, mission, and values.

  • Support additional marketing tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Portfolio demonstrating experience in video production, photography, and graphic design.

  • 1+ year of experience creating social media content for an organization, brand, school, nonprofit, or business.

  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or other multimedia editing tools.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong writing skills and understanding of social media audiences.

  • Comfort working in school environments and capturing candid content.

  • Reliable transportation for on-site work at DSST schools in Denver and Aurora.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience creating social content for student/staff recruitment, nonprofit storytelling, or K–12 education

  • Proficiency in Spanish language

  • Member of the DSST community (Alumnus, Parent/Family Member, Staff Member, Community Partner)

SUPPORT PROVIDED

  • Weekly coaching with DSST Marketing & Communications team member

  • Clear assignments given weekly

  • All needed content creation equipment provided
