Contracts Engineer

Job Title: Contracts Engineer (Main Contractor)


Key Responsibilities:

1.Contract Administration: Review, analyse, and negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, while safeguarding the company's interests. Manage contract changes, claims, and dispute resolution processes.

2.Claims Management: Effectively administer claims to Client and with supply chain.

3.Project Contracts Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify potentials disputes/claims and advise way forward based on contract and industry practices. Provide necessary guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

4.Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with contracts. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and maximize project outcomes. Maintain a proactive approach to contract-related issues, seeking timely resolution to minimize disruptions and financial impact.

5.Contract Performance: Monitor key contract performance against agreed-upon terms and conditions. Track project milestones, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Conduct regular reviews to identify areas for improvement and take appropriate corrective actions.

6.Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

7.Compliance: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to construction contracts especially that is applicable to the contracts managed. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, quality standards, and ethical practices. Work closely with legal counsel when necessary to address complex legal issues.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive contract documentation, including agreements, change orders, and completion certificates. Prepare regular reports and updates on contract status. Present findings and recommendations to senior management as needed.


Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, business administration, or a related field.

• 8 to 10 years of extensive work experiences in contract management within the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of construction law, contract terms, and industry best practices.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to analyse complex contractual issues and propose effective solutions.

• Proficient in contract management software and project management tools.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

•Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.

• Professional certifications in contract management (e.g., CCM, CCCM) are desirable.


Preferably candidates who worked for QE/QP/ Oil & Gas projects in Qatar.
