We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contracts Engineer to join our construction project team. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, review, negotiation, and management of contracts throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. You will work closely with project managers, procurement, legal, and subcontractors to ensure all contractual obligations are met and risks are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and administer construction contracts, subcontracts, and related documents.
- Evaluate and negotiate contract terms and conditions in coordination with legal and commercial teams.
- Ensure contract compliance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor contract performance and support project teams with interpretation of contract clauses.
- Identify potential risks and assist in mitigating contractual disputes.
- Maintain detailed records of contract changes, claims, extensions, and correspondence.
- Support procurement in tendering processes, bid evaluations, and contractor selections.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on contract matters.
- Prepare and submit variation orders, claims, and extension of time (EOT) requests.
- Participate in contract close-out and final account settlement processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- at least 5 years of experience in contract administration or contract engineering within the construction industry in GCC but preferably in Qatar.
- Familiarity with local construction laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- UPDA Certificate is a must
