Control Room Technician

MedScript LTC Pharmacy is seeking a Control Room Pharmacy Technician! The Control Room Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently filling medication orders and preparing medication for delivery by following proper procedures. The position schedule will be 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday thru Friday with every third rotating weekend.

*This position qualifies for a $2,000 sign-on bonus!*

Primary Duties:

· Retrieve medications from stock and labels; fill medication orders through a variety of methods

· Count, measure and pre-pack medications

· Use pharmacy software for barcode verification for prescription processing

· Follow established inventory procedures and manage out-of-stock issues

· Identify quality-related errors and correct these issues as necessary

· Stock supplies such as bags, boxes, ice packs, etc.

· Prepare medications for delivery through proper procedures

· Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends

· Ability to work overtime as needed

· Present a positive attitude and professional appearance

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required. Licensed pharmacy technician preferred. Board Approved Pharmacy Tech In-Training Program offered to non-licensed individuals who wish to obtain a Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Indiana.

Previous pharmacy experience is required; long term care pharmacy experience preferred.

May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. May need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
