Position Overview
CBC Group, Inc. is seeking a technically strong, business-oriented Controller to lead the accounting function while serving as a key partner to banking relationships and internal leadership. This role requires a CPA with strong fundamentals, sound judgment, and a willingness to engage across the organization. The ideal candidate is adaptable, pragmatic, and execution-focused, with meaningful exposure to credit facilities, lender reporting, multi-entity environments, and annual audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting function, including the close process, general ledger, inventory accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, revenue recognition, collections, treasury management, financial reporting, and certain aspects of taxation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP across parent, subsidiary, and affiliated entities.
  • Own the monthly financial close calendar and coordinate month-end close activities across multiple business units.
  • Manage cash flow and core treasury activities, including support of banking relationships, borrowing activity, and credit facility administration.
  • Prepare and deliver lender reporting, monitor covenant compliance, and maintain strong day-to-day relationships with banking partners.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce internal controls, policies, procedures, and workflows to safeguard company assets and support operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual financial audit process, collaborating closely with external auditors and internal teams across interwoven businesses.
  • Participate in the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting; provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop processes, financial models, KPIs, and business metrics that support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate, implement, and enhance financial systems, tools, and processes to support scalability and evolving business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate with external tax advisors to support tax planning and optimization.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate insurance coverage to protect against property losses and potential liabilities.
  • Provide leadership to the accounting team, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Establish overall direction, technical guidance, and ongoing training for accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Active CPA designation required.
  • Approximately 5–15 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • Background that includes either:
  • Experience working within a bank supporting operators, or
  • Direct operator-side experience working closely with banks and lenders.
  • Exposure to credit facilities, covenant compliance, lender reporting, and ongoing bank relationship management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading annual audits in multi-entity or operationally complex environments.
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with an initiative-taking, solutions-oriented approach.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
