Overview
The Controller is a hands‑on financial leader responsible for implementing Microsoft Business Central, managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. This role combines operational accounting expertise with process improvement, systems implementation, and small‑team leadership-ideal for a rising Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller ready to step into full ownership of the function.
Key Responsibilities
ERP & Systems Leadership

Lead the implementation of Microsoft Business Central, including configuration, data migration, testing, training, and rollout.

Stabilize accounting workflows and ensure system adoption across the organization.

Develop internal controls, processes, and SOPs aligned to the new ERP environment.
Accounting Operations

Oversee all daily accounting functions, including AP, AR, cash management, bank reconciliations, and general ledger.

Manage and mentor a team of up to 5 accounting staff, providing direction, training, and accountability.

Maintain a structured, reliable monthly close process.
Financial Reporting & Analysis

Deliver timely, accurate monthly financial statements for leadership and management review.

Maintain and improve cost accounting processes, manufacturing job costing, and inventory accuracy.

Prepare management reporting, KPIs, variance analyses, and ad‑hoc financial insights.
Cash Flow & Forecasting

Build and maintain a reliable 13‑week cash flow forecast for management review.

Monitor liquidity, working capital, and cash management practices.
Process Improvement & Controls

Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Standardize workflows across departments to create consistency and transparency.

Support cross‑functional decision‑making with clear operational and financial insights.
Qualifications

3–5 years progressive accounting experience (Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller level).

Strong background in manufacturing accounting, including job‑costing and inventory.

Experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred.

Hands‑on operator with the capability to build processes and lead a small team.

Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.

Strong Excel and analytical skills.

CPA preferred but not required.
Success Metrics – First 12 Months
