We are seeking a hands-on Controller / Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations across our two dealerships and real estate company. This is a high-visibility role working directly with ownership.
We are looking for someone who can own the accounting function from the ground up: payables, receivables, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and process improvement. This is not a role for someone who only reviews work. We need a strong operator who is comfortable doing the work and keeping the books clean, accurate, and current.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for two dealerships and related real estate entities
- Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, expense coding, and cash disbursements
- Manage accounts receivable, deposits, cash receipts, and collections follow-up
- Track all money coming in and all money going out across the businesses
- Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and depreciation
- Lead month-end and year-end close
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, management reports, and budget-vs-actual reporting
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time
- Monitor cash position and support ownership with budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning
- Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
- Coordinate with outside CPA/tax firm for year-end tax work, compliance, and audit/review support
- Support payroll, commissions, sales tax, 1099s, and other finance/admin processes as needed
- For dealership operations, handle accounting related to inventory, deal activity, reserves, floor plan/lender accounts, and title-related accounting where applicable
- For real estate operations, track entity-level expenses, rent or other property income where applicable, vendor invoices, and multi-entity reporting
- Identify process improvements and help build a cleaner, more efficient accounting function
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar hands-on role

- Experience with multi-entity accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with dealership DMS/accounting systems and standard accounting software
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent controller-level experience required
