Job Summary

We The Controls Engineer will design, develop, and implement software and control systems for complex electro-mechanical equipment, including chemical dispense, blending, and distribution systems. This role collaborates closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to develop and improve automated systems and ensure high standards of performance, quality, and reliability.


Job Description

  • Design, develop, and customize PLC and control software for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Read, interpret, redline, and validate electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain teams in developing methods and procedures aligned with quality and cost objectives.
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and electro-mechanical control systems to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Configure and support SCADA communications and Ethernet-based control networks.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including: Functional Specifications, Input/Output (I/O) Matrices, Operational procedures, Test procedures


Skills Required

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with: PLC programming (Ladder Logic and Structured Text), HMI programming, Technical documentation development
  • Experience with SCADA communication systems and OPC servers (e.g., RSLinx, Kepware/IGS).
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet protocols and TCP/IP networking.
  • Ability to read, edit, redline, and validate P&IDs and electrical schematics.
  • Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical control systems.
  • PLC Software experience preferred: Allen Bradley Studio 5000 / Logix 5000, Emerson (GE) Proficy Machine Edition, Siemens TIA Portal
  • SCADA Software experience preferred: GE Cimplicity, FactoryTalk View SE
  • HMI Development experience preferred: Emerson Proficy Machine Edition, Proface
  • Programming Languages experience preferred: VB, C#


Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.


Pay Rate

  • $45 - $55 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
