About the Role
We're looking for a technically competent Marine Automation Coordinator & Procurement Specialist with a strong understanding of marine automation systems and procurement processes to join our UAE operations. This is a dual-function role — you'll be the link between our automation/technical teams and the supply chain, ensuring the right equipment, spares, and systems are sourced, coordinated, and delivered on time.
If you know your way around marine control systems *and* know how to drive a purchase order through from RFQ to delivery, this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement of marine automation equipment, control systems, instrumentation, and vessel spares
- Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors for automation components (PLCs, SCADA, Fire & Safety equipment, sensors, switchboards, and related systems)
- Raise and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate procurement records
- Liaise with technical teams, project engineers, and vessel superintendents to align procurement with operational timelines
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with local and international suppliers
- Ensure compliance with UAE import/customs regulations for marine goods and ship spares
- Maintain vendor database and evaluate supplier performance
- Support project planning by forecasting material requirements and managing inventory levels
- Prepare comparison sheets, procurement reports, and cost summaries for management review
- Coordinate with logistics and freight forwarders for timely delivery to vessels or project sites
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field *(Diploma with strong field experience will be considered)*
- Minimum 4 years of experience in marine automation coordination, technical procurement, or a combined role in the maritime/offshore sector
- Solid understanding of marine automation systems (PLCs, DCS, SCADA, Fire & Safety, instrumentation, and vessel control equipment)
- Familiarity with IMO standards and UAE maritime regulations is a plus
- Experience working with UAE/GCC-based marine suppliers and chandlers preferred
- Proficient in ERP/procurement software and MS Office (Excel, in particular)
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced marine operations environment with multiple open POs at any given time
