Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Copper Fitter / Busbar Fitter to work within our electrical panel assembly and switchgear manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting, bending, drilling, shaping, and installing copper busbars according to technical drawings and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble copper busbars as per technical drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Cut, bend, drill, and punch copper bars using required tools and machinery.
  • Perform busbar shaping, insulation, and finishing (heat shrink, epoxy coating, PVC sleeve, etc.).
  • Install busbars inside MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, capacitor banks, and other electrical panels.
  • Ensure proper alignment, spacing, torque tightening, and finishing of busbar connections.
  • Mark, label, and measure copper conductors with accuracy.
  • Maintain quality standards and follow safety procedures during fabrication and assembly.
  • Coordinate with the electrical assembly team for proper installation and fit-up.
  • Inspect busbar assemblies for defects, alignment issues, or deviations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, drawings, and international standards (IEC).
  • Report material shortages or technical issues to the supervisor.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Copper Fitter, Busbar Fitter, or similar role in switchgear/panel boards.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, SLDs, and fabrication layouts.
  • Strong knowledge of busbar fabrication tools (bending machine, drilling machine, punch tools, cutting saw, etc.).
  • Good understanding of electrical panel manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and proper handling of copper materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and precise measurement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual fabrication tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with LV/MV panel manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with capacitor banks, MCC panels, and distribution boards.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical connections and torque requirements.
