Position Overview

Details of the Division and Team:

Structurer is responsible for all activities required to define, design, develop and deliver new products to support the business strategy. Work includes:

• Overseeing all trade product structuring activities especially in Doc Trae, working capital and lending to corporate clients

• Providing advice and guidance to teams on the development of appropriate products/solution/platforms

• Partnering with functional and cross-functional colleagues and deliver client solution in trade finance to derive full franchise value

• Ability to work effectively with trade product, compliance, AFC, legal and risk team in bank for the smooth execution of transactions

• Attaining set performance targets, optimum resource utilisation and adherence to relevant internal policies/controls and regulatory requirements

• Ability to assess market risk, translate the short term working capital needs of client into suitable trade structure and price the product across middle east and Africa region

• Monitoring progress and implementing strategies to ensure successful delivery of new products and reviewing product design for compliance with each local marketplace.

Your key responsibilities:

As a Trade Finance and Lending (TF&L) Sales and Structuring Originator ,you will create opportunities for all trade finance product pillars by driving engagement with the Investment Bank(IB) teams. You will co-originate transactions with the Investment Banking teams including Leveraged finance, Investment banking coverage, structured finance, and financial sponsors. You will serve as a key point of contact for the Investment Banking private side stakeholders into TF&L and vice versa and will be reporting to Head of Trade Finance and Lending, MEA. As a senior transactor within TF&L you will be responsible for originating, structuring, negotiating and executing working capital, documentary trade and lending transactions as well as working together with product specialists in natural resource financing and structured trade and export financing. All originations will be from client relationships which are led by our Investment Bank businesses.

• Manage the existing HY portfolio and ensure quality of portfolio is maintained while looking for avenues to grow.

• Strong understanding of wider Trade Finance and lending products with focus on Working Capital and Documentary Trade.

• Work on preparation of sales pitches, credit memos, RFPs, and other transaction related tasks in close coordination with the support teams

• Generate new originations of clients in UAE, Saudi and Turkey Market as well as grow existing portfolio in MEA region.

• Work in partnership with various products teams and coverage teams across the region.

Your skills and experience:

• At least 15 years of experience in Trade Finance and Lending or corporate banking; strong client marketing and service skills including interpersonal communication.

• Strong network with clients in the MEA region and proven track record of origination of new client relationships.

• Competency in credit with a focus on sub investment grade / HY credit framework and an understanding of restructuring and bankruptcy laws in the MEA.

• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrix environment.
