Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Corporate communication Chief Officer is responsible for the planning, development and execution of employee engagement activities across GDMO, including regular internal initiatives and communication, the rewards and recognition program.He/she is responsible for timely communication and engagement to support the GDMO strategic vision through employee engagement initiatives and communication strategy for GDMO. The role holder is expected to demonstrate teamwork skill and carry out his/her duties in accordance with the relevant business policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

General Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing communication strategies that align with the organization's overall goals. Identifying key messages, target audiences, and channels for effective communication.
  • Facilitating communication within the company, ensuring that employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with the office's mission. This includes creating newsletters, organizing town hall meetings, and fostering a transparent communication culture.
  • Timely communication and engagement to support the GDMO strategic vision through employee engagement initiatives.
  • Planning, development and execution of employee engagement activities across GDMO
  • Ensuring timely and accurate distribution of information such as policies, procedures, and updates within GDMO. Utilizing intranets, emails, newsletters, and other internal communication platforms.
  • Management of employees reward program

Initiatives and Communications

  • Creating communication strategies to keep employees engaged, motivated, and informed about office initiatives, changes, and goals.Organizing events, workshops, and feedback mechanisms to encourage participation.
  • Develop and disseminate messages and communicate initiatives, new policies and procedures to employees.
  • Develop employee engagement communications and programs to foster communication, connection and well-being in the office
  • Develop, manage and execute activities centered around delivering programs to support work/life balance for employees; reviewing motivation indicators; and enhancing internal communications plans.
  • Assisting during times of change within the organization by developing communication plans to manage and support employees through transitions, mergers, or restructuring.
  • Establishing channels for feedback and two-way communication within the organization, such as suggestion boxes, regular meetings, and open-door policies.
  • Fostering a positive organizational culture by promoting values, mission, and vision.
  • Manage and execute employee on-boarding through the induction program, collecting feedback and measuring the effectiveness of the program to make changes and updates to it as needed

Rewards and Recognition Program

  • Develop a rewards and recognition program, setting the framework, system/platform, and rolling it out to all the departments
  • Measure and track use of the rewards and recognition program, employee engagement initiatives and engagement on internal communications
  • Manage and execute the on-going rewards and recognition program, including governance of the nominations and communication/celebration of recognized employees
  • Identify the rewards and recognition budget and allocated it across departments

Induction Program

  • Develop an induction program (an on-boarding program) for all new recruits to introduce them to GDMO as an organization and the departments and people within it
  • Manage and execute employee on-boarding through the induction program, collecting feedback and measuring the effectiveness of the program to make changes and updates to it as needed

  • Collaborate with Strategy & Excellence to work on strategic projects and initiatives, ensure process excellence and adhere to KPI achievement and reporting

Technical Skills

  • Expert: Knowledge of media communications and the press industry
  • Expert: Knowledge of human resources practices
  • Proficient: Knowledge of existing regulatory laws and procedures within UAE
  • Proficient: Command of written and spoken Arabic and English

Qualifications

Experience Required

Functional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role

Leadership/Supervisory

  • A minimum of 3 years working in a team

Education And Qualification Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Business Management
