Corporate Lawyer (onsite)

Rawalpindi, Pakistan

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience to join our Legal & Compliance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate laws, employee verification processes, and tax return compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring the organization operates within the law and maintains compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Corporate Legal Advisory:

  • Provide legal advice on corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, contracts, joint ventures, and general business operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, NDAs, MoUs, shareholder agreements, etc.
  • Handle company secretarial functions and ensure regulatory compliance with ROC, SEBI, and other statutory authorities.

Employee Verification & Compliance:

  • Manage and oversee employee background verification, including employment history, educational credentials, criminal records, and reference checks.
  • Liaise with HR and third-party vendors for smooth onboarding due diligence.

Tax Return & Statutory Compliance:

  • Coordinate with finance and tax teams to review tax return filings and ensure compliance with applicable corporate tax laws.
  • Advise on legal risks related to tax matters and provide opinions on corporate tax planning within legal boundaries.

Dispute Resolution & Litigation:

  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, arbitration, or litigation matters.
  • Coordinate with external counsel when necessary and manage case strategy and documentation.

Policy & Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and corporate laws.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B); LL.M preferred.
  • Enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
  • Minimum 5 years of corporate legal experience, preferably in a mid-to-large size law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Solid knowledge of corporate laws, employee verification processes, labor laws, and corporate taxation.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience handling tax audits or litigation.
  • Familiarity with Indian regulatory frameworks such as Income Tax Act, Companies Act, and Employment Laws, provident fund
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs200,000.00 per month
