Corporate Legal Counsel

Piper Maddox have been engaged on a Corporate Counsel role, we are looking for individuals with a strong background in the renewable energy sector for our client in the Solar manufacturing space.

This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional who can balance strategic business insight with deep legal expertise—especially in solar energy, tax equity, and complex contract negotiation. You’ll work closely with the Head of Commercial to shape legal strategies that support business growth while ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate outside counsel for disputes, warranty claims, and regulatory issues.
• Provide legal guidance on forming and managing partnerships, joint ventures, and project transactions.
• Identify and address risks related to intellectual property, employment law, data privacy, solar policy, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor evolving regulations and ensure alignment with federal, state, and local requirements, including tax incentives and import/export laws.
• Draft and negotiate key commercial agreements—PPAs, MSAs, NDAs, consulting contracts, and more.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership in the California Bar
• 5–8 years of relevant legal experience, ideally within the renewable energy or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of energy law, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracts.
• Based in Irvine, CA - 5 days per week on-site
