Correctional Unit Dentist

Major/Essential Functions

Directly supervises dental staff and providing dental services.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include providing chairside dental care, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; assist in appraising performance; encouraging dental staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Makes productive use of clinic resource capacity, including his own time and that of those supervised.
Travel may be required to perform chairside dentistry at other units as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Current license to practice dentistry by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners required. Current Drug Enforcement Agency controlled substances registration certificate required.
