Cost Accountant

Job description:

We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our accounting department. You’ll be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports.

You should possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to combine different data and calculate profit margins. Our ideal candidate should also be able to create detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for our company.

The cost accountant should have strong analytical and technology skills, including

proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Must have at least three years of hands-on experience in costing in manufacturing

companies, as well as minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Main responsibilities

 Collecting and analyzing data about manufacturing and company’s operational costs.

 Setting standard costs of manufactured goods.

 Developing and analyzing cost standards and maintaining the costing system.

 Monitor the unit cost, the accumulation of all direct labour, overhead and other

manufacturing-related expenses to ensure control on cost.

 Preparing periodic reports comparing standard prices to actual production

costs and presenting findings to management.

 Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis and life cycle cost-benefit analysis.

 Advising executives and management on appropriate costing based on financial data

to reduce cost and maximize profit.

 Monitor the inventory and review related adjustments journal entries at month-end.

 Review the cost of goods sold monthly.

 Support in Performing month-end accounting close.

 Supervise and participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of

inventory records.

 Maintaining the general ledgers and reconciling AP and AR.
