Cost Control Engineer

A&M International is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. We are looking for a professional with strong analytical skills and solid experience in project cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial monitoring within construction projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective cost control across all project stages, supporting management in making informed financial decisions, and maintaining project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs against approved budgets.
• Prepare regular cost reports, financial summaries, and variance analyses.
• Track commitments, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.
• Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost data.
• Identify cost overruns and provide corrective actions and recommendations.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and project performance reports.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs.
• Review invoices, interim payments, and final accounts for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain cost databases and ensure proper documentation of all financial records.
• Assist in risk analysis and financial forecasting for ongoing and future projects.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience within the United Arab Emirates as a Cost Control Engineer.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience working on building, infrastructure, or MEP projects in the UAE.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost control / ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale construction projects in the UAE.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and project financial management.
• Experience in cost reporting dashboards and project control systems.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
