Cost Control Engineer (Landscaping Company)

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Development & Management: Prepare detailed project budgets and cost estimates for landscaping projects (plants, irrigation, hardscape).
  • Cost Tracking & Monitoring: Monitor project expenditures against budgets, identifying and analyzing variances.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management: Review subcontractor claims, purchase orders, and supplier invoices to ensure cost-effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Generate regular financial reports, including cash flow projections and final cost forecasts, for management.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to minimize waste and prevent overruns.
  • Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with contract terms, variations, and Valuations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years in cost control, preferably within landscaping, construction, or civil works.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Excel and project management software (e.g., Primavera, SAP, or specific construction ERPs).
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction contracts, material pricing, and labor cost analysis.
  • Analytical Skills: High attention to detail for reviewing invoices and identifying discrepancies.
