Cost & GL Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost & General Ledger Accountant to join our team in Chennai.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing cost expenditures, preparing cost reports, and ensuring effective cost control measures are implemented across operations.

Candidates with prior experience in effective cost control measures are implemented across operations.

Candidates with prior experience in a factory or production setup will be given preference.

This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to provide data-driven insights to support management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

 Prepare and analyze costing reports for materials, labor, and overhead expenses.

 Maintain and monitor standard costing systems and ensure timely updates.

 Perform variance analysis and identify areas for cost reduction or process improvement.

 Support budget preparation and assist in forecasting and profitability analysis.

 Evaluate manufacturing and operational costs for accuracy and efficiency.

 Ensure inventory valuation and cost allocation are accurate and compliant with company

policies.

 Coordinate with finance, procurement, and production teams to validate cost data.

 Assist in internal and external audits by providing cost-related documentation.

 Prepare management reports highlighting key cost trends and financial performance.

 GL account and closing MIS and Balance sheet on a monthly basis and finalize the year end audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (CA Inter / CMA preferred).

 4–6 years of relevant experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.

 Experience in a factory or production environment preferred.

 Strong knowledge of costing methods, inventory control, and ERP systems.

 Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Tally, SAP, or similar).

 Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
