Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Municipal Division Manager), this self-directed, results-oriented leader will have significant responsibilities in overseeing and supporting all the Vicinage's Municipal Courts including the Atlantic County Central Municipal Court. The Central Municipal Court is a shared service venture operating under Atlantic County government, currently consisting of 9 municipal courts.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Providing support to municipal court administrators, assess and communicate suggestions on effective and efficient case flow and court calendars;
Reviewing overall court operations;
Communicate with multiple stakeholders in government and community organizations;
Preparing supervisory staff performance assessments; developing, mentoring and coaching plans; recommending disciplinary and/or employee recognition actions;
Managing the visitation program;
Performing financial audits; identifying discrepancies in bank reconciliations; reviewing municipal court budgets;
Monitoring case management, which includes analyzing backlog and preparing backlog reduction plans;
Reviewing and assisting with municipal court security plans;
Serving as a liaison on issues involving criminal justice reform and pretrial services;
Developing and presenting shared and joint court mergers and separations;
Serving as a representative for the Vicinage on hiring panels for municipal positions in accordance with Vicinage protocol and Statute;
Reviewing municipal court activities for compliance with laws, court rules, and directives;
Preparing written reports, presentations, and conducting outreach with municipal court stakeholders;
Providing assistance to municipal court judges;
Responding to customer service inquiries;
Reviewing both outside activity and litigation involvement submissions;
Meeting with municipal governing bodies when necessary;
Reviewing various Municipal Court plans and projects;
Coordinating training and recruitment of municipal volunteer mediators; serving as a subject matter expert for the Vicinage; mentoring municipal court administrators, and serving on both local and statewide committees.
The candidate should possess exceptional oral and written communication and total quality management skills. The successful candidate will be required to work some evenings.
