POSITION SUMMARY

The Court IT Infrastructure Professional provides technical support for the Clerk of the Court and Comptroller by installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, and network components. This role ensures the smooth daily operation of technology systems, delivers Level 2 support to end-users, and assists with implementing upgrades, testing applications, and supporting mobile unit events. Work is performed under the direction of a technical supervisor and contributes to reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations across the office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Level 2 technical support for end users, Service Center staff, and software developers. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware, software, mobile devices, printers, servers, A/V equipment, and peripheral components. Install and support local area networks, including cabling, network cards, and related software. Perform device upgrades, patches, fixes, backups, and file restorations. Test new software for compatibility and provide recommendations. Configure device requirements such as RAID, cloning, registry changes, and group policies. Update user accounts and system access permissions. Maintain documentation, conduct inventory control, and prepare technical reports. Support COCC mobile unit events with onsite technical assistance. Communicate with vendors and third-party agencies for problem resolution. Provide end-user training as needed. Perform related work as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of computer system technologies, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe products, and COCC applications. Knowledge of Wireshark, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and cybersecurity tools (antivirus, firewalls). Familiarity with cybersecurity, AI, telecommunications, and current technology trends. Strong troubleshooting ability with computing devices, peripherals, A/V, and cellular equipment. Knowledge of network cabling and wiring strategies. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in a professional office, courthouse, or field environment and involves regular travel between locations. The role requires lifting and moving computer equipment, working with cabling and hardware setups, and performing installations or repairs in various physical settings. The employee must be able to stand, bend, reach, carry equipment, and use tools necessary for hardware and network tasks while maintaining a safe and professional demeanor.
