Craft Bartender - Brewery & Cocktail Focus

About the Role

We’re seeking hospitality-driven bartenders who love craft beer, appreciate classic cocktails, and care deeply about guest experience. This role is about owning the room, engaging guests with confidence and warmth, and helping set the tone for a taproom that feels energetic, approachable, and community driven.

You’ll guide guests through our offerings — from beloved year-round beers like Lovebird and Bearwalker to seasonal releases — while delivering authentic, knowledgeable service and working collaboratively with a team that values professionalism, positivity, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm, engaging hospitality that drives interaction, conversation, and repeat visits
  • Actively acknowledge all guests upon entry, creating an immediate sense of welcome
  • Guide guests through the beer list by listening to their preferences and applying a working knowledge of beer styles, hops, and flavor profiles
  • Prepare classic and brewery signature cocktails with consistency and efficiency
  • Understand the taproom food menu and clearly explain offerings and preparation times to guests
  • Support opening and closing duties, including restocking, taproom setup, and maintaining bar readiness
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready bar and service area
  • Handle POS transactions accurately and responsibly, including cash and tip handling
  • Follow all Tennessee ABC laws, responsible alcohol service standards, and house policies and procedures
  • Help create and maintain a safe, fair, and inclusive environment where guests and teammates feel welcome and respected
  • Assist with keg changes and basic taproom operations as needed
  • Actively engage guests with taproom programs including to-go beer, merchandise, and mug club experiences
  • Support brewery events, busy weekends, and peak service periods

Qualifications

  • 2+ years bartending experience (brewery or full bar preferred)
  • Strong interest in craft beer and a genuine desire to keep learning
  • Solid cocktail fundamentals (classics matter)
  • Brewery-specific beer knowledge will be supported through training.
  • Comfortable engaging guests and building rapport at the bar
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, integrity, and professionalism in all guest and service situations
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, reliable, and a positive presence under pressure
  • Ability to lift cases and move kegs (with assistance/tools as needed)

Certifications & Compliance

  • Current TABC-Certified Server Permit (required)
  • Cicerone or Beer Server Certification a plus (not required)

Schedule & Physical Requirements

  • Availability for nights, weekends, and special events
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a high-energy environment
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs and assist with keg handling and service
