Job Summary

The Crane Operator (Storage) is responsible for handling steel materials—such as bars, billets, bundles, and coils—in storage yards and loading/unloading zones. The role requires safe operation of overhead cranes, accuracy in material movement, and coordination with yard and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and stack steel materials in storage areas.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, conveyors, or production lines.
• Ensure materials are placed accurately and safely in designated storage zones.
• Inspect lifting accessories and crane components prior to each shift.
• Follow safe operating procedures and respond to signals from ground personnel.
• Maintain operation logs and report equipment issues immediately.
• Support inventory teams by ensuring proper material organization.
• Assist during shutdowns, breakdowns, and heavy lifting tasks.

Requirements

• Certified crane operator or equivalent training.
• 2–3 years of experience operating overhead cranes in steel plants, ports, or warehouses.
• Ability to understand lifting limits, safety standards, and load balancing.
• Good communication with ground teams and ability to interpret hand signals.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in hot industrial environments.
• Willingness to work shifts and extended hours as required.
