Creative Graphic Designer

JOB SUMMARY

The role is responsible for conceptualizing, designing and executing creative solutions for mono cartons packaging. The role focuses on delivering innovative and high-quality packaging designs that align with the client’s brand identity, marketing strategies and production feasibility. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of printing processes, materials and current global packaging trends.

You will be responsible to create opportunities for process enhancement and automation to ensure product development and Innovation. You will focus on creating opportunities for various Designing and Prepress aspects, such as Innovation, cost reduction, technological advancement, efficiency improvement, customer engagement, quality control & assurance, market research and trends, team’s building and process automation. This position is a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, effective design implementation and collaboration to design packaging solutions that resonate with customers while meeting production and cost considerations to drive success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS (KRAS)

1. Design and Conceptualization: Develop visually engaging designs, layouts and illustrations for offset printing and packaging. Translate creative briefs into innovative design concepts that align with the client brand identity.

2. Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs are consistent with the client’s branding guidelines and objectives. Adapt and modify existing designs to suit diverse marketing needs.

3. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Sales, Design Center, Prepress and Post Press team to deliver unique designs in timely manner. Present design concepts and incorporate client’s feedback effectively.

4. Content Creation: Design creative and striking content for clients to add value in their product packaging. Create compelling graphics, infographics, and presentations that communicate key messages.

5. Innovation and Trends: Stay updated with the latest design tools, trends and technologies. Introduce fresh design ideas to elevate the client brand’s visual storytelling.

6. Project Management: Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines while maintaining quality and creativity. Prioritize tasks and meet timelines effectively.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design and Development:

· Conceptualize and create packaging designs for mono cartons, including structural and graphic elements.

· Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand design requirements and brand guidelines.

· Provide mockups, GMG and prototypes for client approval.

2. Pre-Press and Printing Coordination

· Ensure designs are optimized for various printing techniques (i.e. offset, flexo).

· Assist to prepare pre-press files with accurate key lines and color separations.

· Collaborate with the production team to address technical constraints and ensure print-ready files.

3. Market and Trend Analysis

· Stay updated on industry trends, materials, innovative and competitive packaging designs.

· Integrate innovative ideas into the design process to enhance product appeal.

4. Client and Team Collaboration

· Communicate with clients to gather feedback and refine designs accordingly.

· Work closely with the marketing, sales, QC/QA and production teams to align designs with business objectives.

5. Compliance and Standards

· Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements and sustainability standards.

· Adhere to internal quality benchmarks for design and printing outputs.

· Number of designs approved by clients in the first round.

· Feedback ratings from clients and stakeholders on design quality and creativity.

· Reduction in design-related errors impacting production costs.

ROLE’S REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Fine Arts, or a related field. Certifications in packaging design software or pre-press processes are a plus.

· 7+ years of work experience in production house, graphic designs and illustrations preferably in the mono carton manufacturing industry.

· Strong portfolio showcasing creative and production-ready packaging designs.

· Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, ESKO(ArtiosCAD), GMG/X-Rite, One Vision, or similar tools).

· Robust exposure to printing techniques, effect in(offset, flexo) and materials used in offset printed mono cartons.

· Sound Knowledge of pre-press requirements and color management.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

· Time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

· Be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and manage time and workflow.

Bilingual (Arabic and English) is an advantage.

12. Clerical and Computer Literacy – Aware of some clerical responsibilities which includes filing and documentations. Knowledge of up-to-date computer principles in MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and Proficient in Adobe CS5 (Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe in-design, Adobe Flash and Adobe Acrobat etc.).
