Simple Pest Management is a fast-growing home services company operating in San Diego and Sacramento. We produce clean, modern creative across print, digital, and social—and we value speed, clarity, and execution. Our marketing function is lean by design, and this role will operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
Position Overview
We’re hiring a Creative Marketing Specialist to own and execute marketing creative across social media, digital ads, and print.
This is a solo role. You will be the primary owner of creative production and day-to-day marketing execution. There is no existing marketing department—you’ll be expected to operate as a self-starter, manage your own priorities, and move work forward without constant direction.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes initiative, and can combine strong design fundamentals with AI-driven workflows to ship consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Design & Production
- Design print materials including postcards, door hangers, EDDM mailers, and leave-behind collateral (print-ready with proper bleeds and color setup).
- Create digital assets for paid social ads, email campaigns, landing pages, and internal marketing needs.
- Maintain brand consistency across all creative assets.
- Prepare and organize production files for vendors and internal use.
Social Media & Content
- Capture on-site photos and short videos of technicians, services, and company activity.
- Create short-form video content (Reels, Shorts, Nextdoor posts).
- Publish and maintain a consistent posting schedule across Facebook, Instagram, Google Business Profile, Nextdoor, and LinkedIn.
- Monitor engagement and assist with routing or responding to inbound messages as needed.
AI-Driven Creative Execution
- Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and similar platforms to:
- Generate and refine marketing copy
- Develop creative concepts and hooks
- Accelerate iteration and production
- Apply effective prompting techniques across platforms, understanding where each tool performs best.
- Build and reuse structured prompts and workflows to improve speed and consistency.
Ownership & Leadership (Solo Role)
- Act as the primary owner of marketing creative output.
- Manage your own workload, timelines, and priorities.
- Identify gaps, propose improvements, and bring ideas forward without being asked.
- Communicate clearly with leadership on progress, needs, and results.
Qualifications
Required
- Proven proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign required; Photoshop strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to produce print-ready files (bleed, trim, safe areas, CMYK).
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools across multiple platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.) for real production work.
- Ability to film, edit, and caption basic short-form video content.
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions without close supervision.
- Organized, reliable, and able to operate as a one-person department.
- Comfortable working both in the office and in the field capturing content.
Nice-to-Haves
- Motion graphics or simple animation.
- Paid social ad creative experience.
- Photo retouching or cleanup.
- Experience documenting workflows or SOPs.
Hours & Compensation
- Part-time to start (20–30 hours per week), with potential to grow into full-time.
- Monday–Friday, flexible scheduling.
- Compensation: $22–$28 per hour, depending on experience and capability.
- On-site role (Santee office and local field work).
