Role Overview

The Creative Strategist will drive the strategy for ecommerce brands on what to create, what to say in the creatives and how much to create. This role focuses on defining the strategy for brands, creating breakthrough ad briefs, analyzing best performing ads, hosting workshops and more. You will collaborate closely with media buying, creative and leadership teams for brands to drive insights and ideas to create high performance, high scale ads.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Strategy & Execution

  • Develop data-backed creative hypotheses and ad concepts across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Native, and other paid channels based on performance data, competitor research, and audience insights.
  • Write direct-response ad scripts including hooks, body copy, and CTAs for short-form video (UGC, TikTok-style), static ads, and long-form formats.
  • Build and manage structured creative testing roadmaps — concept-level tests, variant iterations, and scaling strategies — across multiple client accounts.
  • Brief UGC creators, designers, and video editors with clear, actionable direction so they can film and/or produce the necessary creatives for client review and approval.
  • Build shot lists and creative decks for UGC content shoots.
  • Conduct competitor and trend research using tools like Atria, Parker, Meta Ad Library, and TikTok Creative Center to identify winning angles and emerging formats.
  • Ensure ad-to-landing-page message match and flag conversion alignment issues to the growth team.

Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Analyze creative performance data — CPA / ROAS, CTR, hook rate, hold rate, thumb-stop ratio — using tools like Motion, Foreplay, Triple Whale or Northbeam.
  • Translate performance insights into specific creative next steps: what to iterate, what to pause, what to scale, and what to test next.
  • Receive and analyze reports from the growth team to integrate performance insights into creative strategies and processes.
  • Identify winning creative patterns across clients and build a shared knowledge base of what works by format, platform, and vertical.

Team Leadership & Process Management

  • Oversee brief execution internally or with clients' creative teams to see if instructions were followed.
  • Participate in ongoing internal trainings to improve as a creative strategist
  • Provide detailed feedback on internal AI workflows to improve effectiveness and efficiency

Collaboration & Client Communication

  • Collaborate daily with brands' creative, media buyers and leadership teams to align business strategy with creative strategy while hitting performance targets.
  • Prep and participate in high energy client meetings, share creative insights and performance learnings, and action items for follow up calls.
  • Host creative workshops to accelerate client breakthroughs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure creative efforts align with overall business objectives.

AI & Innovation

  • Use AI tools (Midjourney, Runway, CapCut AI, ChatGPT, Claude, Parker, Atria) to accelerate creative strategy output — from script drafts to image concepts to research summaries.
  • Identify opportunities to build creative SOPs and workflow automations that increase team speed without sacrificing quality.
  • Stay current on emerging AI capabilities and integrate them into the creative production pipeline.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in creative strategy, paid social creative, or performance marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory position.
  • Proven track record of creating ad concepts that drive measurable results (high spend, low CPA, high ROAS) for DTC/e-commerce brands.
  • Hands-on experience writing direct-response ad scripts for Meta and TikTok — not just briefs, but actual full workflow production.
  • Strong understanding of creative testing frameworks and iteration cycles in a paid social environment.
  • Experience briefing and managing UGC creators and overseeing video production pipelines.
  • Strong analytical skills — you can read a performance dashboard and know exactly what creative to make next.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-output agency environment.
  • A portfolio that includes paid social ad examples with performance results attached — we want to see how you think, not just what you made.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience across multiple ad channels beyond Meta (TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest).
  • Background in direct-response copywriting or conversion-focused content.
  • Experience with landing page optimization or CRO.
  • Proficiency with AI tools integrated into a daily creative workflow.
  • Experience building creative SOPs or workflow automations for a team.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, etc.) and DTC customer psychology.
  • Proven experience in process development and optimization.
  • Proficiency with creative analytics tools such as Motion, Foreplay, Triple Whale, or Atria.
  • Familiarity with creative production tools such as CapCut, Figma, or Frame.io.

  • Full-time and 100% remote position
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
  • Performance bonuses and Paid Time Off (PTO) available after completing the 90-day onboarding period
  • Our team communicates primarily through Slack, ClickUp, and Google Workspace.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $70,229.08 - $95,000.00 per year
