UBL UAE is seeking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to join our Financial Institutions team as Credit Analyst. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), and insurance firms. This role requires a solid understanding of financial analysis, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics impacting financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Evaluation & Risk Assessment

Conduct in-depth credit assessments of counterparties including banks, NBFCs, and insurance firms using financial, regulatory, and qualitative criteria.

Prepare comprehensive credit proposals, assign internal risk ratings, and recommend appropriate exposure limits.

Evaluate entity-level risks including capital adequacy, asset quality, funding and liquidity profiles, earnings stability, and management quality.
2. Portfolio Management & Risk Monitoring

Continuously monitor the credit portfolio for early warning signals, deteriorating credit metrics, and industry developments.

Ensure periodic credit reviews are completed in line with internal policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Basel norms).

Track macroeconomic, regulatory, and sectoral developments affecting portfolio counterparties.
3. Credit Support & Stakeholder Coordination

Work closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) to support deal structuring, credit analysis, and approval processes.

Present credit assessments and recommendations to Credit Committees.

Ensure effective alignment of risk appetite with business objectives and transaction structures.
4. Relationship Management & Market Intelligence

Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across financial institutions.

Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, monetary policies, and liquidity movements to proactively assess risks and opportunities.
5. Product Expertise & Structuring

Demonstrate strong knowledge of FI-specific products such as:

Trade Finance

Syndicated Lending

Custody Services

Liquidity Management Solutions

Provide input on product structuring and tailor credit solutions that balance client needs with the bank’s risk appetite.
Key Requirements:

Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; CFA/FRM qualifications are a plus.

4–6 years of relevant experience in credit analysis or risk management within a bank or financial institution.
