The Credit & Collections Coordinator is responsible for managing credit control and collections for customers and Business Partners, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding receivables and minimizing credit risk. The role requires strong coordination with Sales, Accounts and Business Partners, with a key focus on cash flow management, compliance with credit policies and accurate reporting to the Finance Manager.
Due to frequent interaction with local customers and partners, Arabic language proficiency is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Collections & Receivables
- Manage and follow up on collections from customers and Business Partners to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly Accounts Receivable aging reports.
- Conduct regular follow-ups via calls, emails, and meetings (where required), primarily in Arabic.
- Coordinate with the Sales team/Sales Coordinators to secure payment commitments and recovery plans.
- Track post-dated cheques (PDCs), bank transfers, cash receipts and credit notes.
- Escalate overdue, disputed or high-risk accounts to the Finance Manager with clear status and recovery recommendations.
Credit Control
- Review and process customer and Business Partner credit applications and documentation.
- Verify trade licenses, agreements, payment terms, and approvals.
- Coordinate with the Finance Manager for approval of credit limits, payment terms, and exceptions.
- Monitor customer and Business Partner credit exposure against approved limits.
- Ensure strict compliance with company credit policies and internal controls.
Business Partner Coordination
- Handle collections, reconciliations, and outstanding balances from Business Partners.
- Reconcile Business Partner statements and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the Accounts team.
- Ensure adherence to agreed contractual payment terms and commercial agreements.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to the Finance Manager, including:
- Customer & Business Partner aging reports
- Overdue and collection status
- Credit exposure vs. approved limits
- Risk and bad debt analysis
- Support month-end and year-end closing related to receivables.
Systems & Compliance
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for credit approvals and collection follow-ups.
- Ensure customer and Business Partner master data is properly maintained in the ERP system.
- Working knowledge of Odoo ERP is a strong advantage.
- Assist in audit requirements, legal recovery actions and internal control reviews when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
Experience
- Proven experience in credit control and collections is strongly preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable / Credit & Collections roles
- Experience handling Business Partner collections is an added advantage
- UAE trading or distribution company experience preferred
Language
- Arabic language proficiency (spoken and written) is mandatory
- English proficiency required
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of receivables, credit risk, and recovery processes
- ERP system experience required; Odoo knowledge is an added advantage
- Good command of MS Excel and reporting tools
