Qualifications:- Hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS);
- PEL/ELS must be endorsed in area(s) to be taught;
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred;
- Must have earned a rating of Proficient or Excellent on the most recent performance evaluation (teachers who have yet to earn a summative evaluation rating will not be excluded).
Function: The Credit Recovery Teacher will work to coordinate, facilitate, organize, and manage activities to improve the skills and ability of students in the Credit Recovery program. The Credit Recovery Teacher will also work with classroom teachers in their efforts to assist students in achieving educational goals to bridge their academic gap.
Classes are tentatively scheduled as follows:
- SATURDAYS (9/27/2025 - 12/13/2025) from 8:00 am to 10:15 am AND/OR
- SATURDAYS (9/27/2025 - 12/13/2025) from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm
- NO CLASSES ON 10/11/2025 and 11/29/2025
Terms of Employment:
- Salary is $63/hour, including a 30-minute plan period for each course.
- Positions are for one semester, and all positions are based upon enrollment.
- Teachers are selected based on the seniority wheel, as detailed in Article X of the AFT/IFT Local 683 Agreement.
- Teachers shall be paid for two (2) hours of preparation per semester.
- Teachers are scheduled to work 7:45 am to 12:45 pm.
