Criminal and personal injury paralegal

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Criminal and Personal Injury Paralegal to join our legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about litigation, personal injury, and criminal law to contribute to impactful cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, drafting, and administrative skills, with experience supporting attorneys in a fast-paced law office environment. The paralegal will be responsible for managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting with document preparation to ensure efficient case progression and client support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with case management in criminal and personal injury law, including document review and organization
  • Conduct legal research across various practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and litigation
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, contracts, and correspondence with precision and clarity
  • Manage case files using legal case management systems like PCLaw, iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and document management systems
  • Perform thorough document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards
  • Transcribe depositions and court proceedings accurately for case records
  • Support attorneys with administrative tasks such as filing documents electronically or physically, data entry, and maintaining organized files
  • Prepare for client interviews by gathering relevant information and assisting in client communication under proper phone etiquette standards
  • Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations to support case strategies across multiple practice areas including litigation and criminal defense
  • Assist with court filings and coordinate with courts or agencies as needed for case progression

Skills

  • Excellent drafting abilities for legal documents and contracts; attention to detail in proofreading and transcription
  • Experience with legal administrative support tasks such as filing (electronic & physical), data entry, document review & management
  • Proficiency in case management software including PCLaw, iManage; familiarity with document management systems is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining organizational skills under tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette for client interactions
  • Strong organizational skills to manage large volumes of documents and case files effectively
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures and the ability to support attorneys through all phases of case development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,925.21 - $58,920.69 per year
