Criminal Defense Attorney

A well-established criminal defense practice is seeking a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney with extensive courtroom and trial experience. This role is intended for a seasoned litigator capable of independently managing serious criminal matters from intake through verdict.

Responsibilities

  • Handle felony and misdemeanor criminal cases from inception through resolution, including jury trials
  • Serve as lead trial counsel in state and/or federal criminal proceedings
  • Advise clients on legal options, risks, and potential outcomes
  • Negotiate with prosecutors and opposing counsel when appropriate
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff
  • Maintain accurate case files and comply with all ethical and procedural requirements

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license and good standing with the CA state bar
  • Minimum of 8–10+ years of criminal defense experience
  • Demonstrated jury trial experience as lead counsel (required)
  • Strong knowledge of criminal procedure, evidence, and constitutional law
  • Excellent oral advocacy, writing, and client communication skills
  • Ability to manage a substantial caseload independently
  • Experience handling serious or high-stakes criminal matters strongly preferred
  • Family law or civil litigation experience is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $200,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
