We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Role Description:

Risk & Compliance Tech delivers cutting-edge technology to protect the Bank and its customers from Financial Crime and to meet our various regulatory commitments.

Our applications/services cover Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions & PEP Screening, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Regulatory and Tax Reporting, Customer Due Diligence/KYC (Know Your Customer) and Risk Management.

We operate in a 100% Agile environment and deliver change rapidly but with built-in quality and control – driving adoption of the latest technologies such as machine learning & AI, while ensuring that our databases, applications, and environments are operating at the level of performance and reliability demanded by HSBC’s 40 million customers.

You’ll find working in Risk & Compliance Tech both challenging and rewarding.   • The role holder will deliver Cross Portfolio Technology initiatives such as Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures, Technology Risk Control Book of Work (TRCB) and act as a strong partner to Value Streams across HSBC delivering evolutionary and transformation change.
  • This is a global role supporting a broad range of solutions including Global transformation programmes, regional and Global audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • In this role it’s expected to work collaboratively with other members of Cross Portfolio Technology team, Value Streams within Risk and compliance and the COE’s within other parts of Enterprise Technology, the core central teams across the Bank.


Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate change across multiple agile / value stream teams to deliver across Risk and Compliance
  • Extend support to the teams in removing the roadblocks that could impact core Business projects within the CIO area. Work closely with the team of Cross Portfolio Technology and assist to achieve appropriate delivery shaping and prioritisation, communicating any operational challenges to implementation.
  • Responsible in coordinating with ITSOs ensuring on assessment and remediation of technology related risk across R&C.
  • Ensure Technology and operational risks are effectively managed and mitigated in line with Group and business objectives.
  • Support the teams in driving and uplifting the framework for resolving and impact assessing change that spans Risk & Compliance (e.g., acquisitions, divestments, large regulatory programmes)
  • Support Cross Portfolio Technology Lead achieve agreed initiatives and book of work
  • Participate and drive team engagement and cultural initiatives for the function.

Role Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in Technology Risk management, Technology project delivery, IT Governance or relevant roles along with strong stakeholder management.
  • Strong understanding of Technology Controls and Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Good understanding of Agile adoption and DevOps.
  • Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders with gravitas. Strong communications skills, influencing and negotiation.
  • Excellent written skills with ability to express complex topics and problems effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience of working with complex stakeholders in a global setting.
  • Ability to develop new and adapt existing processes for increased quality and efficiency whilst encouraging others to seek new ideas/solutions to day-to-day problems.
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly assess situations, their impact and options for resolution with high level of judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Stakeholder Management ability to engage and build effective relationships with team and stakeholders.
  • Work towards improving and building on existing knowledge. Effectively utilize various training programs offered by the bank.
  • Be a role model for the team by actively participating and contributing in team meets.
  • Identify ways of improving service/adding value/reducing costs in line with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements by actions being governed by overall audit guidelines.
  • Work towards improving and building on existing knowledge. Effectively utilize various training programs offered by the bank.
  • Understand the importance of schedule adherence and operate according to the agreed norms (be present during operational hours, plan leaves effectively, take breaks per schedule etc).
