Job Purpose:

To perform welding, cutting, and fabrication work required for maintenance and repair of crusher plant machinery, structural components, chutes, conveyors, and heavy equipment, ensuring strong, safe, and durable repairs that support continuous and efficient plant operation.

Key Responsibilities:1. Welding & Fabrication

• Carry out all types of welding work (ARC, MIG, Gas, and Cutting) for the crusher plant, including repair of hoppers, chutes, liners, frames, and structural supports.
• Fabricate and fit components such as guard rails, brackets, platforms, and covers as per drawings or supervisor instructions.
• Perform cutting, grinding, and fitting of metal parts to prepare for welding and assembly.
• Weld and rebuild worn or damaged areas of screens, feeders, conveyor frames, and bins.
• Assist in installation, alignment, and assembly of plant structures and equipment.

2. Maintenance & Repair Support

• Support mechanics and fitters in repairing or replacing parts requiring welding or fabrication.
• Participate in preventive and breakdown maintenance of crushers, conveyors, and other mechanical systems.
• Conduct inspection of welded joints and fabricated parts to ensure quality and durability.
• Prepare and maintain records of welding repairs and material usage.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and hot work permits.
• Ensure fire safety measures and proper ventilation during welding operations.
• Comply with HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) rules and company policies.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately to the Workshop In-Charge or HSE Officer.

Qualifications & Experience:

• ITI / Trade Certificate in Welding or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Welder in a crusher plant, quarry, or heavy industrial workshop.
• Strong experience in ARC and gas welding, cutting, and basic fabrication works.
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, measurements, and dimensions.
• Knowledge of welding different grades of steel and cast materials.
• Familiarity with repair welding of crusher liners, hoppers, and structural components.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures related to hot work and confined space.

Skills & Competencies:

• Skilled in multiple welding techniques (ARC, MIG, TIG, Gas Cutting).
• Fabrication and fitting accuracy.
• Teamwork and coordination with mechanics, electricians, and operators.
• Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
• Knowledge of materials, electrodes, and welding consumables.
• Safety-conscious attitude and adherence to workshop discipline.

Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Quality and strength of welds and fabrications.
• Timely completion of repair and fabrication tasks.
• Adherence to safety procedures (zero hot work incidents).
• Downtime reduction due to welding repairs.
• Material and consumable usage efficiency.

Working Conditions:

• Based at the Fujairah crusher site (workshop and field).
• Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and welding fumes.
• Requires wearing protective gear and following hot work safety standards.
• May work in shifts, weekends, or during shutdown maintenance as required.
