Job Purpose:
The Curatorial Assistant (UAEN Applicants) assists chief curator of Archaeology & Antiquity and the senior curatorial assistant in all activities related to curation, project exhibitions and research requirements of the collections within their designated area.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Supports in the weekly gallery overview of permeant and temporary collections within the area, providing follow-up arrangements in the event of potential technical and conservation incidents or premises related requirements.

Completing archiving, registration, cataloguing and record-keeping of the wing's collections and retrieval of such information when directed.

Supports the collection and storage management on formations of new collection and the rotations of current collections.

Supports in the development and updating of display labels, panels and narrative information for the wing's collections and loans.

Assists in the production of curatorial, marketing, educational, cultural publications and exhibition-related materials including but not limited to wall texts, extended object labels and multimedia content.

Assists in the preparation of the documentation for acquisition process.

Participates in the research and preparation for potential development of collection, including biographical and bibliographical research.

Supports Chief Curator on public and private tours and educational workshops conducted on the wing's collections.

Continues to learn preventative and curative restoration actions within the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s collections.

Continues research and development general art history and expertise on the wing’s area collections and themes.

Other duties as applicable to the role.
Working Environment Requirements:
Normal administrative hours required but occasional rostering to work across weekends and/or evenings
Minimum Experience & Education Requirements

Fresh Graduate in History of Arts or Archaeology / 1-2 years of experience as Curatorial Assistant

Interest in art history and working with historical objects and documents

Fluency in Arabic and English
