Curriculum Developer / Instructor to Launch Mental Health Associate Degree Academic Program

About Us

We are an accredited career training school expanding our academic offerings to include healthcare-related fields. As part of this growth, we’re launching an Associate Degree program in Behavioral Health and seeking an experienced Program Director to lead this initiative. This role will initially focus on program development and securing regulatory approvals and has the potential to transition to employment with responsibility for program oversight upon launch.

Position Overview

The Program Director will start on a consulting basis leading to a consistent part-time hire (within 3-6 months) to lead the design, implementation, and accreditation and eventual teaching and management of the new Behavioral Health associate degree program. Key responsibilities include meeting all regulatory standards and gaining approval from relevant state and accrediting bodies. Following program launch, this role will transition to employment, with ongoing responsibility for faculty management, curriculum development, and ensuring program excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Behavioral Health associate degree program.
  • Guide the program through the regulatory approval process with accrediting and state agencies.
  • Establish and maintain all necessary documentation and compliance standards for accreditation.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of qualified faculty for the program.
  • Develop and ensure a rigorous, engaging, and effective curriculum that meets educational standards.
  • Collaborate with administrative and educational teams to align with company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with curriculum development using an LMS, online synchronous and asynchronous delivery, and teaching in higher education.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in a field related to behavioral health, mental health, psychology, counseling, or human services.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in mental/behavioral health, with experience in program leadership, teaching and/or academic administration required.
  • Familiarity with academic accreditation processes and regulatory requirements for mental health programs.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.

Compensation

This position will start as a consulting role, with a competitive flat rate fee during the curriculum development phase. Following successful program(s) approvals and as the program launches, the role will be compensated at a fair market rate to be determined and discussed.
