The National Telecommuting Institute (NTI) is currently hiring Remote Customer Support Representatives for a short-term seasonal contractor opportunity paying $15.50 per hour.

Schedule & Availability

  • Flexible scheduling between 7:00 AM – 12:00 AM EST
  • 7 days per week availability
  • Minimum 15 hours per week required
  • Contractors must work at least 8 hours on April 15 to qualify for the certification bonus

Operating hours:

  • Monday – Sunday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 AM EST
  • Tax Day (April 15): 8:00 AM – 3:00 AM EST

What You'll Do

As a Remote Customer Support Representative, you will:

  • Provide friendly, professional support to customers via phone and chat
  • Help customers navigate tax preparation software
  • Troubleshoot basic technical or account-related issues
  • Clearly explain information in a way customers can easily understand
  • Research customer questions and determine appropriate solutions
  • Maintain productivity goals and schedule adherence
  • Stay informed about product updates during the tax season

Your goal is simple: help customers resolve issues quickly while delivering an excellent service experience.

Skills We're Looking For

Customer Service & Communication

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience with customers
  • Comfortable speaking with customers and guiding them through solutions
  • Ability to handle frustrated or upset customers professionally

Technical & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot software or technical issues
  • Strong research and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to simplify complex information for customers

Organization & Productivity

  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to meeting productivity and service goals

Preferred Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Call center experience is a plus
  • Basic understanding of tax concepts is helpful but not required

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must reside in the United States
  • Must pass a background check and technical check
  • Must complete certification training before beginning work
  • Must be on camera during certification training
  • Must meet the minimum weekly hour requirement

Program runs from certification through April 15, 2026.

  • Windows computer (Mac and Chromebooks are not permitted)
