Data Acquisition Analyst - Hybrid in Lenexa

Where You'll Work

This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You'll Do
The Data Acquisition Analyst is responsible for gathering, organizing, and validating large datasets from various sources to support our data programs that create data-driven decision-making capabilities for our member hospitals. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of our data, which will directly impact the quality of insights developed by our team.

  • Lead and coordinate the data submission process to manage hospital data content and organizational classification systems, ensuring adherence to established standards and timelines.

  • Collaborate with domain experts to support and train hospital stakeholders on the standardization of data elements, including departments, job codes, general ledger accounts, and charge codes to promote consistency, comparability, and reliable downstream analytics.

  • Coordinate and support data submission implementation efforts for new hospitals across data products.

  • Perform validation of new data loads and technical database changes using established validation frameworks, documenting results, findings, and exceptions in accordance with defined standards.

  • Assist with ongoing data quality reviews and audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency, escalating complex or systemic concerns to domain experts.

  • Proactively identify data standardization and data quality issues during data acquisition and validation activities, supporting root cause analysis by collaborating with data quality analysts to recommend actionable remediation steps, sharing findings with domain experts and governance stakeholders as appropriate.

  • Prepare and deliver routine status updates, data definitions, guidelines examples, and detailed documentation while collaborating closely with CHA staff and hospital partners to support accurate and reliable comparisons.


Experience and Skills:

What You'll Bring to CHA

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with database technologies, data management, data governance, data stewardship, or related roles.

  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working within a Microsoft SQL Server environment.

  • Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and processes (e.g. Azure or Snowflake), including data profiling and ETL.

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate data anomalies and proactively identify and resolve issues.

  • Experience with healthcare data (administrative, billing, or clinical) including classification systems such as ICD-9/10, CPT, MS-DRG, and APR-DRG, or healthcare analytics is preferred.

This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $69,000 Max: $120,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
