About RestoringVision
RestoringVision is a leading global nonprofit dedicated to providing vision screening and eyeglasses around the world. Our vision is to create a world where everyone who needs eyeglasses has them. Our focus is on solving the global vision crisis by addressing presbyopia—the age-related deterioration of a person’s near vision and the most common cause of vision impairment at scale—for people living in poverty through innovative delivery models, evidence-building, and advocacy.
Globally, 826 million people are living with presbyopia. By providing essential vision screening and near vision eyeglasses to those living on less than $2 a day, RestoringVision is transforming lives, unlocking the human potential that lies at the intersection of health, education, and livelihoods. Since 2003, the organization has reached more than 34 million people across 150+ countries. We are now on a path to significantly increase our impact, aiming to deliver 126 million pairs of near-vision eyeglasses worldwide by 2030.
In addition, RestoringVision plays an active role in driving international advocacy and action around eye health as a critical part of the overall global health agenda. We are members of the United Nations Friends of Vision Secretariat, the World Health Organization’s Global SPECS 2030 Network, the International Association to Prevent Blindness (IAPB) Refractive Error Advocacy Group, and The Coalition for Clear Vision Steering Committee.
