Hiring Department: Office of Business, Community, and Government Engagement

Reports To: Data Analytics Manager

Job Location: On Site, El Paso, Texas

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Note: This is a full time, temporary contingent upon availability of funds position with a possibility of extension and is eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, and vision.

Position Summary


The Data Analyst supports the Office of Business, Community, and Government Engagement by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to employer engagement activity, workforce trends, student participation, and post-graduation outcomes. Reporting to the Data Analytics Manager, the role is responsible for maintaining accurate data records, producing routine reports, and contributing to dashboards and analyses that inform decision-making and continuous improvement.


The Data Analyst supports employer prospect identification, workforce and labor market analysis, and the tracking of student outcomes to help demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of institutional engagement efforts.


Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

Collect, clean, validate, and maintain data related to employer engagement activity, student participation, internships, and post-graduation outcomes.

Produce routine reports, summaries, and datasets to support the Office of Engagement and Impact’s planning, assessment, and decision-making needs.

Assist with the collection and analysis of labor market and workforce data to support industry-informed employer engagement strategies.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry and documentation within CRM systems, career platforms, and related databases.

Support data quality assurance efforts by identifying discrepancies, gaps, or inconsistencies and recommending corrective actions.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

Minimum Education required:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience required:

Demonstrated experience collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data and producing reports or summaries to support decision-making.

Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, or reporting tools to manage and analyze data from multiple sources.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, information systems, economics, public policy, higher education administration, or a related field.

Experience working in higher education, workforce development, or institutional research environments, particularly in roles supporting program evaluation or student success initiatives.

Familiarity with labor market and workforce data sources and an interest in applying workforce insights to support employer engagement strategies.

Experience using data visualization, reporting, or dashboard tools to communicate findings to non-technical audiences.

Experience working with CRM systems, career platforms, or student information systems to support tracking of engagement activity and outcomes.
