About Transportation Operational Analytics
The Transportation Operational Analytics team serves as a central analytics partner for Walmart’s Transportation organization, enabling data-informed decisions across the network. Our mission is to deliver reliable reporting, actionable insights, and scalable analytical solutions that support both Home Office and Field Support teams.
We focus on:
- Building and maintaining dashboards and tools to monitor transportation KPIs and operational performance.

Supporting AOP savings initiatives through structured analytics and reporting.

Providing ad-hoc analyses to support leadership decision-making.

Supporting pilots and strategic initiatives with data-backed insights and performance measurement.
As part of this team, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners, leverage modern analytics tools, and apply structured problem-solving to help improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance transportation operations.
What You’ll DoData Management & Reporting- Extract, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to support reporting and analysis. Key focus areas on SQL fluency as well as MS Excel and pivot table analysis, and Python fluency will put you a step ahead. Familiar with BigQuery structure and navigation.

Maintain recurring reports and dashboards to ensure accurate and timely KPI tracking. Connecting the KPI’s to the business how they interact will drive to further improvement and insights.

Ensure data accuracy and follow established data governance and quality standards. Bringing in additional knowledge around this topic to the team or highlighting missing governance solutions would be a huge delighter.
Analytics & Insights- Perform structured analysis using SQL, Python, and visualization tools to identify trends and performance drivers. Having a self-driven motivation to continue learning inside and outside of the role itself is needed to help identify those trends and how they affect performance.

Translate data findings into clear insights that support operational efficiency and cost improvement. An understanding of the business itself and how the data supports them is essential. Primarily within transportation organization but blending over into DC Operations and Merchandising.

Assist in developing dashboards and reporting tools for stakeholders. Not only creating the dashboard as it is being requested by the business, but finding those additional insights that are important to the stakeholder or connecting it between other tools is needed.
Business Partnership- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business questions and define relevant metrics. Understanding the initial ask is key as well as providing insights into the next question that might arise by connecting the ask to the business and supporting data.

Communicate insights through clear visualizations and concise summaries tailored to business audiences.

Support senior analysts and leadership with data preparation and analysis.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement- Conduct root cause analysis to help identify operational improvement opportunities. The ability to define cause and effect both inside and outside of the organization will greatly enhance your skillset.

Contribute to ongoing process enhancements through data-backed recommendations.

Support measurement and tracking of pilots and initiatives. Having the drive and initiative to spot a concern and come to the table with an educated and data backed solution is key to getting a pilot or initiative off the ground.
What You’ll Bring- Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python.

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
