Job Scope

Uses some independent judgement and familiarity with the field to perform work. May provide input into the
development of policies and procedures. May be responsible for the administration of moderate complexity
departmental programs.


Position Summary


Under general direction, is responsible performing a variety of technical tasks for identifying, capturing, analyzing,
managing, and presenting data. Contributes to decision-making and planning to include conceptualization and
modeling of data of moderate complexity. Exercises no supervision.


Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

1. Develops non-complex models that can be used to predict future outcomes based on current trends using
general levels of knowledge.

2. Collects data and maintains databases and data systems under moderate supervision with some latitude
for independent judgement.

3. Supports research activities and collaborates with team in preparing reports in written or verbal format.
4. Supports in interpreting data, analyzing results using non-complex statistical techniques and provides

ongoing reports using general levels of knowledge.
5. Acquires, interprets, and understands non-complex data sets from primary or secondary data sources and

maintain databases/data systems.
6. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in non-complex data sets using general levels of

knowledge.
7. Filters and cleans data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate

and correct code problems using general levels of knowledge under moderate supervision.
8. Locate and define new process improvements to non-complex opportunities using general levels of

knowledge.
9. Uses non-complex automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources using general

levels of knowledge.



10. Supports the preparation of final analysis reports for management demonstrating data-analysis steps,

enabling important decisions based on various facts and trends.
11. May assist less experienced peers as needed.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities

expected for this position.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science,
Information Management, Business or Statistics or 4-year equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in data analysis
  • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee

(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science,
Information Management or Statistics

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases, and programming
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
  • Strong ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with
attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting finds
  • Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets to find solutions
  • Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organized and analyze data
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written

Working Conditions

Work Environment:
  • Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and
equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
  • Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional

exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.

Physical Demands/Requirements:
  • Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting,

standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing,
speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
