About Us

Apeiron Research Center is a translational biotechnology institute advancing autologous and regenerative cell therapies. Our mission is to unify experimental science, intelligent data systems, and AI-driven research into a single digital ecosystem supporting both discovery and GMP manufacturing.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Architect to design, implement, and maintain the foundational data infrastructure that powers Apeiron’s research, manufacturing, and AI initiatives. This role focuses on system architecture, data integration, and R&D data extraction, ensuring that complex laboratory and clinical data are captured, structured, and made analysis-ready for scienti,ic, regulatory, and AI applications. You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and regulatory staff to translate experimental processes into unified, metadata-rich data systems that serve as the backbone for Apeiron’s AI and translational research workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and manage Apeiron’s research data ecosystem, integrating laboratory instruments, R&D data sources, and enterprise systems into a cohesive, compliant data platform.

Develop and optimize data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for:

  • Laboratory instruments (,low cytometry, qPCR, ELISA, bioreactors, environmental sensors)
  • Experimental and assay datasets
  • External scienti,ic and clinical datasets (PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, internal collaborations)

Define metadata and data-modeling standards that preserve biological and regulatory context for downstream analytics and AI modeling.

Design APIs and connectors between laboratory software (Benchling, Sartorius, Thermo Fisher, etc.) and enterprise systems (LIMS, QMS, Snow, lake).

Ensure data governance and integrity consistent with GMP/GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and quality management standards.

Collaborate with AI engineers to ensure that curated datasets are AI-ready for training and learning loops.

Develop visualization, reporting, and search tools that enable scientists and quality staff to interpret instrument and assay data intuitively.

Support R&D and clinical translation teams by extracting, cleaning, and interpreting datasets that inform process optimization, regulatory submissions, and scienti,ic discovery.

Qualifications

Required

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Architecture, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, integration, or engineering, preferably in biotech or R&D environments.
  • Strong background in data modeling, schema design, and pipeline development (Snow, lake, SQL, Python, Node.js).
  • Proven ability to integrate multi-modal laboratory and scienti,ic data from diverse platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data work, lows (training, labeling, validation).
  • Experience implementing cloud-based data systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Preferred

  • LIMS/QMS integration and laboratory automation experience.
  • Understanding of GMP/GxP data integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of scienti,ic ontologies, metadata standards, and knowledge-graph systems.
  • Experience with biomedical data curation or NLP tools.

Why This Role Matters

As Apeiron’s Data Architect, you will define the scientific data foundation that drives our research and manufacturing ecosystem. Your work ensures that every dataset, from instruments to publications, flows securely, intelligently, and compliantly through the organization, empowering both AI systems and human researchers to accelerate regenerative medicine innovation.
